Serial CA7H030 - COMMISSIONED Custom Piezo / Mag Corvus. You're probably asking yourself "whatthehellsacorvus?". This body style was made by Gibson from 1982-1984, and has a special place in the heart of the customer who commissioned it. This particular model is a Corvus II, it's loaded with 2 Humbuckers. Body shape and pickup count is where the similarities end.

SPECIFICATIONS:

BODY: Hand made at Onyx Forge - Bookmatched Figured Maple on Ash. Tobaccoburst front and back under gloss nitrocellulose lacquer; custom O. Forge Ebony PUP rings under satin nitro; rear loaded controls; sculpted heel with recessed chrome screw ferrules; Dunlop recessed Straploks; recessed Electrosocket jack; polished 18-8 stainless steel screws throughout; Ebony dome knobs; custom pickguard.

NECK: Hand made at Onyx Forge - 13 degree tilt 6/side O. Forge modern headtock; top grade Ebony fretboard with split block Paua Abalone & White Mother of Pearl markers on Bocote; finish is natural under satin nitro, except for the headstock face, which will be Blackburst under gloss nitro; Paua Abalone side markers; Paua Abalone Onyx Forge logo; custom matching Ebony split block truss rod cover under satin nitro; 12" radius fretboard; 25.5" scale; "C" profile with rolled edges; Grover locking 18:1 tuning machines; 22 medium jumbo stainless steel frets; zinc alloy threaded inserts for strength and outstanding sustain; double action truss rod; 1 11/16" nut width; custom laminated Graphtech & brass alloy nut.

ELECTRONICS: Loaded with both magnetic and piezo pickups with a 3-way mini selector that isolates or mixes each output in stereo or mono.

  • MAGNETICS: A matched set of Stew-Mac Golden Age overwound humbuckers routed through a balance / blend pot, master volume and tone controls are push / pulls that independently split each pickup.
  • PIEZO: L. R. Baggs T Bridge and Control X preamp. Includes a stereo / mono output switch accessible from the front of the guitar. The Control X unit allows blending of the piezo / magnetic pickups and utilizes one master volume control for all mono output. When in the stereo mode, the master volume controls the mags, the Control X pot controls the Piezo volume.

    OTHER STUFF:
  • Supplied wth an L.R. Baggs stereo Y cable - When in the stereo mode, piezo and mags will be fed into separate channels or amps. In the mono mode, a standard guitar cable is used.
  • Custom Unitec ATA rated case fitted for this guitar.

    This guitar has very wide tonal output, as you might imagine from the specs above. The body is quite light and is very comfortable in both standing and sitting positions.
