Serial CA6D014 - Here's something unique - A commissioned double neck
octave / std. guitar. Swamp Ash body finished in Butterscotch Blonde under nitrocellulose.
The guitar sounds great, and is well balanced. That octave neck is sure fun to play.
Finished July '06.
SPECIFICATIONS: -----------------
BODY: Swamp Ash single cutaway hand made at Onyx Forge. At 4 lbs., this body
is about the same weight as a standard Northern Ash Tele. Features include flush
mount Dunlop Straploks; flush mount string ferrules; all polished 18-8 stainless
steel screws and custom pickguard. The finish is custom mixed Butterscotch Blonde
aniline dye under gloss nitrocelluse lacquer.
NECKS: Both made at Onyx Forge - the top neck is an octave guitar with a 13 7/8"
scale that uses open "G" tuning an octave above a standard guitar while using a
standard string set. The bottom neck is a standard 25 1/2" scale neck, also
intended for open "G" tuning. Both necks are Flame Maple fretboards on Flame Maple
with medium jumbo stainless frets; Grover locking machines; zinc alloy threaded
inserts; custom laminated alloy brass and bone nuts; Paua Abalone fret marker dots
& headstock logos. Both necks are finished with custom amber aniline dye under
gloss nitrocellulose lacquer.
ELECTRONICS: The octave features a single Seymour Duncan Alnico II Rhythm Tele pickup.
The standard guitar is loaded with DiMarzio Twangbuckers. Both instruments are
controlled through a 4-way blade switch with master volume and tone pots. The
Volume pot is a push / pull that reverse phases the bridge pickup of the standard
guitar when pulled.
